About Us

At Parkhurst Early Learning Centre, we’re more than just a childcare service — we’re a nurturing community where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. Our passionate educators provide high-quality early education through play-based learning, cultural inclusion, and meaningful relationships.

With strong ties to the local Darumbal Country and a commitment to sustainability, we create enriching experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence in every child. From nursery to school age, we’re here to support your family’s journey every step of the way.

Our Philosophy

At Parkhurst Early Learning Centre, we believe that children are capable, curious, and resourceful learners. Our play-based, child-initiated curriculum supports each child to be seen as a confident, social, and active participant in their own learning journey.

Meet our team

Rebecca

Centre Director

Hi, I’m Rebecca, the Nominated Supervisor here at Parkhurst Early Learning Centre.

I’m incredibly passionate about early childhood education and the impact it has on children’s lifelong learning and wellbeing. For me, this role is more than just a job — it’s a chance to create a space where children feel safe, valued, and free to explore the world around them.

Since stepping into this leadership role at Parkhurst, I’ve focused on building an environment that feels like a second home — not just for children, but for families and educators too. I’m committed to creating warm, inviting learning spaces, supporting educator wellbeing, and working toward high-quality, exceeding practices under our new journey with Evolve Early Learning.

I strongly believe in:

  • Building trusting partnerships with families
  • Leading with empathy, respect, and clear communication
  • Embedding sustainable and culturally inclusive practices into everyday learning
  • Encouraging child-led play and meaningful, hands-on experiences

As a mum myself, I understand how much trust it takes to leave your child in someone else’s care. That’s why I prioritise open communication, genuine relationships, and always having time for a chat or a check-in.

I’m so proud to be part of the Parkhurst community and can’t wait to welcome you and your family into our centre.

What makes us Exceeding

At Parkhurst Early Learning Centre, we go beyond meeting the National Quality Standard — we strive to exceed it in everything we do. Our exceeding rating reflects our unwavering commitment to high-quality care, innovative teaching, and strong partnerships with families and community.

We prioritise child-led learning, meaningful cultural inclusion (with deep respect for Darumbal Country), sustainability practices, and continuous improvement across all areas of the centre. Our passionate educators are reflective, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to each child’s growth and wellbeing.

Exceeding, to us, means creating a place where children thrive, families feel truly valued, and educators are empowered to shine.

Part of the community

At Parkhurst Early Learning Centre, we’re proud to be an active and trusted part of our local community. We maintain strong connections with Parkhurst State School and other nearby schools, helping to support smooth transitions and continuity in each child’s learning journey.

Our involvement extends beyond the classroom — we participate in local events, collaborate with community services, and embrace opportunities to give back. We honour Darumbal Country, celebrate cultural diversity, and welcome every family as part of our extended village. Whether through excursions, projects, or shared celebrations, community is at the heart of everything we do.
